We are looking for a permanent part-time Registered Practical Nurse (RPN) to join our team.

Position Summary
Nursing N Care is looking for caring and compassionate nurses to become a part of our team and provide a variety of medical and non-medical services that allow our clients to remain in their home and meet the challenges of aging with dignity, care and compassion.
Reporting to the Director of Care, the Registered Practical Nurse is responsible for demonstrating competency by using acquired knowledge and skills to make appropriate clinical decisions in the provision of care to clients.

Some Key Responsibilities
– Demonstrate the ability to function to the full scope of nursing practice per the College of Nurse of Ontario
– Care planning
– Post surgical care
– Wound care management
– Disease management
– Communicate effectively (written and verbal) with patients/clients, families and other members of the health care team
– Think critically, set priorities and organize work in response to client/patient needs
– Demonstrate knowledge of transfers and lifts
– Be committed to ongoing learning, professional development, and continuous quality improvement
– Assume a leadership role with demonstrated evidence of self- motivation regarding continuing education in areas of patient assessment, patient education and related Clinical Specialties
– Foster good public relations and working relationships in a family centered care environment
– Demonstrate your ability to perform appropriately in emergency situations

Qualifications
– Registered Practical Nursing diploma from a recognized Community College
– Registered and in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario
– Current Basic Cardiac Life Support certification, BCLS
– Current Medication Certificate
– Current certificate in Gerontology or equivalent of one year working with geriatric patients in an inpatient and outpatient setting
– Bilingualism in French/English an asset
